About Me

Hi, my name is Ryan Higginbottom. Welcome to my blog! I am grateful you’ve stopped by. Thank you.

I hope that this blog will edify, encourage, and instruct those who read. If you’re not careful, you might even chuckle once or twice. But my primary purpose at this site is to grow as a thinker and writer. I like to think and write about a wide variety of topics, including theology, Christian living, family, church, Bible study, and leadership. (Most of my writing on the topic of Bible study can be found at the Knowable Word blog. Click here to see all of my writing on that site.)

My life’s work is enormous and humble at the same time: loving God and following Jesus Christ, loving my wife, and raising my daughters in the fear of the Lord. For the time being God has called me to teach mathematics to college students as my vocation. (I hope it goes without saying that the views expressed on this blog are mine alone and may not be shared by my employer. I write as a private citizen, not as an employee of Washington and Jefferson College.)

For anyone curious about the theology of the tag line on this blog (“A long walk with a Sure Peer”), please see Hebrews 2:11.

If you’re into that sort of thing, you can follow me on Twitter.
